FREE ONLINE CALCULATOR
Percentage & Marks Calculator
Calculate marks percentage, a percentage of a number, or change between two values.
How to use this tool
- Select the calculation mode before entering X and Y.
- For marks, X is obtained marks and Y is total possible marks. For change, X is the old value and Y the new value.
Worked example
425 marks out of 500 gives 425 ÷ 500 × 100 = 85%. For “X percent of Y”, 25% of 200 is 50. For change from 50 to 75, (75 − 50) ÷ 50 × 100 = 50%.
How it works
Marks percentage = marks obtained ÷ total marks × 100. A result of 425 out of 500 is 85%.
Percentage change = (new − old) ÷ |old| × 100. This tool does not determine grades, eligibility or board-specific rounding rules.
